Inspiration

I left church today feeling inspired and changed. I decided to look on youtube for some videos that would help me remember what was feeling. I found this person who makes these amazing videos. Just thought I'd share this one. If you have any extra time I would reccomend looking at some of them. I really like the one about the second coming also.

As I kept watching these videos, each one was better than the last. I just dont want to take the time to switch to a different video though. If I could, I would put all of them on here. (:

Missionary Opportunity...to be continued

Ever since I remember there has been a missionary girl in our ward named Anna Richards *name has been changed*. Nobody has known who it was. One of my young womens leaders has tried contacting her but she has only talked to her mom. So for about two years and a half years she's been a mystery, we always wonder about her at church, but we've had no success.
Well today I met her.
She got on the bus and I recognized her right away. I know her face, I've seen it everyday for the last year, just no name. She asked if she could sit next to me and I said "of course".
She sat down and a girl said "hey, do you know my sister? I saw you talking to her." (This is the youngest of three sisters)
Anna said, "yeah! I could tell you were her sister the second you sat down, you look and sound just like them."
Well, the youngest sister asked for her name and she said "Anna."
It all started connecting in my brain at that point.
So I was looking around, wondering what I could talk to her about. I knew I needed to befriend her at that instant. I knew that somehow I must make at least an acquaintance with her. Being a very shy person, I was nervous about how I was going to make it all work. I quickly remembered the power of prayer. I prayed as hard as I could asking for courage, knowledge of what to say, and acceptance from Anna.
Instantly, I didn't even think about it, I just blurted out "So, what grade are you in?"
From there we talked about school, and classes. We talked the entire time going home, and it wasn't hard for me. It just felt like I was talking to an older girl in my young womens. It was fun getting to know this girl, that I'd all heard about every BYC and planning meeting. I was finally connecting her life to a name.

As she got off the bus she asked for my name and I said "Kaitlyn" and she said, "Thanks, my name is Anna."

My new tradition

Random Tuesdays. Or something of that nature. So here it goes....

1. I'm double jointed pretty much everywhere, my hands always freak people out when they see them

2. I'm very flexible one of the most flexible in the class

3. I can do 55 sit ups in one minute, that's my average

4. I hate the non-fitted sheet that is supposed to go under your blanket, it's really uncomfortable and gets in the way

5. I used to bite my nails like crazy and one day it just stopped so now I have long pretty nails (:

6. My hair naturally changes color sometimes it has tints of red in it and then goes dark brown to almost blonde

7. My eyes change depending on lightning, clothing, etc. although most people's eyes do that I think

8. I most of the time hate movies. But, I love horror movies, and I don't like action ones. Musical ones are the best though!

9. I love nightmares you already know about this one if you regularly read my blog

10. My vision is HORRIBLE thank heavens for contacts, otherwise I could be legally blind

11. I don't like wearing slippers never did think they were comfortable

12. I hold my pencil in the strangest position, people are ALWAYS commenting on it

13. I love C.O. Bigelow lipgloss it's the best, but it's so expensive.

14. I love making lists can you tell?

15. I usually have to do everything in evens or fives. 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, etc.

16. My feet haven't grown since I was eleven size 6-7.5

17. I don't think I've grown in two years. everyone is passing all 5 ' 3" of me. Everyone says the 8th graders are so small, and most of them are taller than me.

18. I've hiked Angels Landing a very very very VERY (did I say very) steep and dangerous hike. It was the worst 5 miles of my life. I ran down it, the scariest thing in my life. But it was worth it in the end.

19. I went jet skiing, and I went by myself and I went as fast as it could go, straight down the water, with no glasses. Oh how daring am I?

20. I love talking on the phone. even if people aren't saying anything, I love listening.

21. I have my own special way to make Top Ramen chicken flavor all the way.

22. I can relate to the song "That's Not My Name" most of the time people call me quiet, or Katherine but I'm neither of those things. I'm a loud mouthed Kaitlyn/Kati.

23. I've been playing piano for a year and a half and I play at a level of one who's been playing for eight years, trully a God-given talent. I used to cry when people played and I couldn't. I'm so blessed.

24. I read the BOM with my ward in 60 days, and I'm reading it again, halfway through in a week, and I'm reading it with seminary this year. I hope I can come to understand the book. Even the second time through has brought me so much knowledge to what I didn't understand. I finally get the stories, and I'm getting used to the language.

25. I love hand-me-downs most girls hate them, but I love them because you get something different then what everyone else has.

After I made my first list I remembered things I didn't write down, so I hurried and wrote them down on a paper. Most of them came from that. But then through out the whole week I remembered stuff, and I didn't get a chance to write them down and I forgot, darn it.

So, I have lots of plans for posts coming up, so be prepared!! I can't wait. I keep writing them, and then having to save them as drafts so I don't overwhelm all five of you that read my blog.

Guess what!?!

I ramble on and on and on about random stuff.

If you don't know me, I won't talk to you. I just won't. Unless you start the conversation, and then I will, because I'm not rude. But I probably won't volunteer anything after that.

If I know you a little, I might say "hi" but I won't really try and do much after that.

If you're a pal, I'll probably keep a pretty good conversation with you, because that's better.

If you're a friend we'll probably talk for a while. By then, I'll know you well enough to talk freely about most things.

If you're a best friend, I won't be quiet. Good luck getting anything said, because I like to ramble. On and on and on and on.

If you're a soul sister, I'm sorry. I'm really really really rude to you. I never give you a moment to talk it seems like. Even when you tell me to be quiet. For every word you say I say 20. So thanks for loving me even though I do that to you.

Anybody care for that? It's really kinda strange

Some Random Goodness

Okay, so I wasn't tagged or anything, but I'm in a weird mood and I feel like sharing some random things you may not know about me. If you know me well enough, you may already know most of it, but hang in there!

1. I am a germaphobe/neat freak. Although you probably can't tell by looking at my bedroom or my house.

2. Chocolate is my secret vice (:. Seriously it is just yummy. Chocolate brownies, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate bars, need I say more?

3. I don't drink caffeine and I haven't for 2 1/2 years. Only today I blew it by accidentally drinking it. But please don't tell anyone. It wasn't on purpose I promise.

4. I want to go to University of Utah to study psychology. Most people say I'm excellent at reading people's emotions and knowing them just by their body language and how they act.

5. I CANNOT stand cheese, milk, eggs, onions, mushrooms, and I really don't enjoy meat on pizza. Okay that little piece was just random to make you laugh.

6. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to plan things. Although, and don't tell anyone this, but sometimes I procrastinate, because I think I'm better at it then I actually am.

7. I love musicals, playing piano, singing, basically anything to that affect (or is it effect?). One day, I'm going to star in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway and have Gerald Butler be the phantom. Watch for the announcement!

8. Some days I eat like a pig, and some days I forget to eat. Don't know why you'd really want to know this, but it's something random about me!

9. As soon as I start liking something, I like obsess over it for a couple of weeks, then I forget about it. Except for in the case of musicals, that never goes away.

10. I really do not like skinny jeans, black nail polish, loud music, and basically all of teen fashions. I'm more of a "modest is hottest" kind of girl who tries to keep it simple.

11. I have a CTR ring, and I haven't taken it off of my finger for almost 5 years! I've had a couple of people think I was married though, so I changed the finger. Weird story there.

12. I Love Baking end of story. Not really end of story, I love baking desserts and I make fabulous cinnamon rolls and crepes, because how can one go wrong with those two foods?

13. I used to be the fastest typer in my school. Okay now these random things are just getting boring, you can stop reading if you want. Just kidding please don't.

14. I read about 35 blogs daily. But not all of them post everyday, so luckily it's not overhaul.

15. I like to exaggerate. For example, sometimes I say "I tried doing it 700 times" or "She called 5 million times and you need to tell her to quit it" (anybody know who I'm talking about?) However, I'm not exaggerating on the blog reading part. That's 100% true

16. Summer has made me very very blond. Most of the time I say smart witty things, or at least I can carry a conversation, but lately I get lost easily.

17. I rarely get jokes. Even if school is in session, I usually don't get them. Don't ask me why. That's why I stick to knock knock ones!

18. I really wish I could run a marathon, play softball and dance. I guess I could if I tried really hard, but I wish I could be part of a team and I started when I was younger

19. When I was in 5th grade, I danced a lot with my friend. And we performed at Tuachan. I used to think I was pro at that.

20. I love biking. One day I'm going to bike cross country

21. I want to go on a mission. Seems like something that would help me grow so much!

22. I love smelling things. Unless it's gross then I don't. But if you have fallen victim to me sniffing something of yours, I apologize. If I see perfume sitting around, I just grab it.

23. I love organizing. There's something refreshing about it, right?

24. I wear flip flops 24/7. The only time you wont see me wearing them, is if I'm hiking, during P.E., or if there's more than three inches of snow on the ground. But that rarely happens here.

25. I really don't like animals. Something about them is slightly smelly and makes me itch. Which brings me to my next one,

26. I'm allergic to metal. Yes I know, I've tried "sterling silver" it still gives me rashes. I've tried pure silver. Nothing. The only jewelry that hasn't given me a rash is my CTR ring.

28. It bugs me to death when people don't spell things right. And I'm very humbled when I spell something wrong.

29. If I vacuum, I have to take the hose and vacuum around the edges. It's just natural, right? Why leave just a little bit there?

30. I make weird facial expressions. If you know me well enough, you've probably seen them. And especially when I'm talking on the phone and singing. I probably wouldn't want anybody to see me doing that.

There you have it! Congrats for making it to the end! I may start a tradition of doing this, it was a blast.

Tell me what you think, what you learned, and what you already knew please. :)

Anders

My 22 month old sister...

We put her down for her nap in her playpen and she wasn't happy. Five minutes later, she walks up to me and says "hold you". Somehow she climbed out of it.

I was sitting on my front porch and we have white pillars holding up our roof. Ande was out there with me and whenever a car went by she would hide behind one and wave to it. Somehow she thought they couldn't see her, but she still wanted to be nice.

After that, she decided to dance all over the porch singing and jumping. She kept running and stopping right before the edge and I stopped her pretty soon after that because I didn't want her getting hurt. But she was sure having fun!

She heard some dogs barking in the background and she looked around with her big blue eyes trying to find them. She started howling, her favorite way to immitate a dog, and kept looking around. Then she looked at me and proudly exclaimed, "Oggy says buwuf". It's hilarious to hear her say buwuf. None of us have said it before, so we don't even know why she says it. I guess it's a mix between bark and woof.

We have a fake cat in some flowers in our yard. She looks at it and says, "meow, meow". Then since it doesn't move or respond she starts to pet it. Then she looks at me with a big worried face. She keeps touching it saying "kitty okay?". After about 30 seconds of this she decides a kiss may help it. After it didn't work, she got concerned and came over to me to take me to it. What a sweetheart.

She now knows how to tell you pretty much what she wants. She will tell you if she's thirsty "baba" (although we're trying to teach her to say drink). If she's hungry, she'll walk up to her highchair and say "up". If she wants to take you somewhere, she puts her palm up and pulls her fingers in. And she points to her diaper if she wants changed.

Her favorite activity is to "bump". She runs to the door every day to get a chance on the trampoline. For awhile she would say "jump" but now, she has changed the word. She runs and runs on the tramp and I get so worried she's going to fall off, so most of the time I don't take her out there.

There you have it, a long rambling post about Ande.
